Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician (HVAC Technician, Plumber, Electrician, Low Voltage Electrician, or Carpenter) to join our Facilities Team at Starfire Optical Range, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico supporting the USAF Space Domain Awareness program.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 3+ years of experience in construction working on building systems in a commercial and industrial environment.
- Experience working with building codes and commercial construction, interpreting highly complex drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Journeyman license in HVAC Technician, Plumber, Electrician, Low Voltage Electrician, OR Carpenter.
- Experience using hand and power tools to construct, renovate and repair facilities and equipment.
- Willingness to work variable shifts including nights and weekends.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Active Top Secret/Secret Clearance.
TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Experienced (level C):Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years’ related work, Bachelor, etc.).
Lead (level D): Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 7 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+5 years’ related work, Bachelor+2 years’ related work, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, renovations, and construction on multiple research and development facilities including labs and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems concerning building and utility systems.
To meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite at Kirtland AFT, NM.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-start is required.
