JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Light Engineering/Maintenance Technician to join our team in Purcellsinch. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing production equipment, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience in a maintenance or light engineering role, preferably within the food industry or similar. Knowledge of packaging equipment would be a plus.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certification or diploma in engineering, maintenance, or a related field.
• A qualification such as MAMF qualified mechanical fitter would be beneficial.
• Experience in welding, fabrication, or light engineering.
• Understanding of PLCs and automation systems is an advantage.

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of production equipment to minimize downtime.
• Conduct repairs on mechanical, instrumentation, and pneumatic systems as needed.
• Support installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during production processes.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety and hygiene regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any recurring issues.
• Assist with light engineering tasks, including fabrications, adjustments, and modifications to equipment.
• Monitor spare parts inventory and report low stock levels.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and equipment reliability including operator instruction and training.
