The Role

  • Ensure all building assets/systems are properly and safety maintained according to code. This includes performing repair and preventative maintenance of fitness equipment, maintenance of electrical components, heating & cooling, audio & video systems, basic plumbing, HVAC, etc.
  • Responsible for applying service notes, plus status updates to individual work orders for visibility across departments.
  • Accountable for communicating with key stakeholders and business partners across the Company, to maintain a clear understanding of progress and/or outstanding issues.
  • Responsible for reviewing and prioritizing Club work orders on a daily basis and manage club maintenance completion deadlines.
  • Responsible for ordering parts and materials as needed for equipment and facility repair and maintenance.
  • Maintain lighting system through the facilities, cleaning fixtures and replace light bulbs and lamps.
  • Support, oversee and inspect outside contractors, if necessary.
  • In compliance with Agreements, maintain Club grounds.
  • Responsible for completing other duties as assigned based on club needs.
  • Accountable for following health and safety best practices when carrying out service and maintenance duties.
  • Accountable for obeying all traffic laws and practice safe & professional driving habits in company vehicles.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • Related trade school training [i.e., carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, electrical] is preferred and an asset.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and demonstrate a safe driving record.
  • Must reside within the Ottawa region.

  • Continual standing, walking, bending, crouching, crawling and reaching.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • This job is subject to hazards and includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
