Are you a Mechanic or Engineer looking for a refreshing, exciting change?
This is your chance to be part of the Shotover Jet maintenance team - We are looking for a Maintenance Technician who takes pride in their work. You will be based in our workshop located on Arthurs Point, Queenstown.
At Shotover Jet every day is different, bringing unique challenges within our dynamic maintenance environment. Day-to-day you could find yourself diagnosing, servicing, and building our boats while ensuring they meet the highest industry standards. We operate a fleet of eight, twin engine jet boats, a range of light vehicles, commercial vehicles, plant and equipment.
Shotover Jet is an iconic Queenstown operator, we have exclusive rights to carry visitors on a breath-taking jet boat ride through the stunning scenery and unique narrow canyons of the Shotover River, featuring exhilarating 360° spins!

A little bit about you

We’re after someone who has:

  • Mechanical, Engineering Trade Certificate or relevant trade-based qualification
  • Ability to carry out diagnostics of marine combustion engines, vehicles, and other plant on site
  • Can demonstrate a high level of workmanship with the ability to read and interpret drawings and service manuals
  • Positive attitude toward systems, documentation, and process requirements
  • Knowledge of asset management software packages (would be advantageous)
  • General engineering skills, ability to use and operate Lathe, Mill, MIG, TIG welders with experience working with Aluminium and Stainless-Steel materials (would be advantageous)
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Availability to work weekends and public holidays to meet operational requirements
  • “Role up ya’ sleeves” - Can-Do positive attitude with a commonsense approach!
