JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least one year of experience in a maintenance or trades-related role, background in electrical or mechanical trades would be considered an asset.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60lbs.
  • Capable of using new technology for tracking maintenance requisitions (computers, iPad/tablet).
  • Ability to read and write in English, and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Strong team player with the ability to cooperate with colleagues and department heads.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with other colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the building in good repair and free from hazards related to electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems
  • Monitor environmental fire safety conditions, equipment, and alarm systems to ensure compliance with Long Term Care Regulations.
  • Respond to maintenance requisitions in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks of the building, grounds, and facilities, making repairs as needed.
  • Perform painting, minor carpentry, and repairs as required.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
