QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must meet the following qualifications by the application deadline:
Essential:
- Hold an electrician qualification (a National Craft Certificate (Electrical) or another suitable award, equivalent to Level 6 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications);
- Possess at least 3 years of relevant experience in a building, industrial, or similar environment;
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Exhibit the capacity to identify and solve maintenance problems;
- Show potential for development within the role;
- Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Have a strong sense of responsibility and individual initiative;
- Be IT literate (Microsoft Office Suite) with administrative capabilities;
- Have completed or be willing to complete further studies relevant to the post;
Desirable:
- Experience in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including risk assessment and hazard control, particularly in a hospital’s Facilities Department.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in contractor management.
- Proactive nature with a creative approach to work.
- Demonstrated ability to be a strong team player, capable of working independently with enthusiasm and drive.
Responsibilities:
This role is designed to assist the Facilities Manager and other team members in the efficient coordination and execution of building and estate maintenance. The role is vital in maintaining the organisation’s facilities to meet operational requirements, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment for all occupants. It plays a key part in the smooth operation of the Facilities Department, supporting the broader team and aligning maintenance efforts with the organization’s objectives and regulatory standards.
