About The Opportunity
This position will troubleshoot and communicate mechanical issues in the production area and maintain a productive, safe and clean work environment.
Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform maintenance functions related to production equipment
  • MSDS forms Steam, Vacuum, Air, Hydraulic gages
  • Perform electrical repairs
  • Instruct helpers and less qualified personnel
  • Identify proper P/M schedules
  • Identify proper parts, materials and tools needed for specific jobs
  • Ability to set up and operate all shop equipment
  • Understand operating principles and all safety aspects of the steam generator and related steam equipment
  • Demonstrates commitment to Safety and performs job duties in accordance to company safety policies and procedures
  • Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is followed at all times

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot plant machines
  • Ability to overhaul, rebuild, and troubleshoot plant machines
  • Ability to make simple parts or equipment and tools
  • Must have proper tools to perform assigned work duties
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and where necessary complete items including a blue print, electrical schematic, operating and maintenance manuals, work order, repair parts request, standard and metric tape measure, and other measuring equipment including a micrometer, a caliper, a scale, and a VOM (Volt/OHM Meter)

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year combination of training, education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities to perform the duties listed above
  • Must have technical knowledge or maintenance tools and equipment

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting
  • Ability to stand 6-8 hours
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. maximum
  • Frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent bending and lifting
