We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician (Electrician), at our Winnipeg, Manitoba location. This position will be responsible to perform scheduled predictive and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and systems, troubleshoot and repair/ overhaul of electrical equipment and machine components and services, and assist other trades when needed to ensure a maximum up time of the production plant.
This position will work on a continental 12-hour (7pm – 7 am) night shift schedule to support a 24/7/365 operation. Call-ins and overtime due to breakdowns and scheduled maintenance or projects may be required. This position can be considered for Part-time or Full-time hours.
The successful candidate will be required in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper operation and performance of plant equipment and systems.
  • Performs daily troubleshooting, maintenance and repair work, PMs on all plant or building equipment and services.
  • Maintains the operation and surveillance of plant utilities and ancillary equipment, related control panels, and building control systems.
  • Performs installation and setup of new and existing equipment.
  • Assist in preparing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules
  • Assists other trades in mechanical repairs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned such emergency repairs, general building maintenance.
  • Maintains good line of communication with all staff and between shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Sound knowledge of manufacturing / industrial equipment.
  • Equipment and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Completion of mandatory Health & Safety training including Lockout, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS.
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO, HACCP, GMP, 5S, and TPM.
  • Able to move from one task to another efficiently and accurately.
  • Demonstrates team approach, behaviors and interpersonal skills that contribute to a positive team and work environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to clearly understand instructions and communicate one-on-one.
  • Organized in approach to work assignments, practices effective time management, and prioritizes tasks.
  • Working use of computer programs (i.e. CMMS, Excel, and Outlook).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Electrician license – Industrial Electrician preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience (food production an asset).
  • Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting or programming an asset
  • Instrumentation and Calibration experience considered an asset.
  • Experience in maintaining preventive and ongoing maintenance programs.
  • Strong Mechanical background and abilities to assist in performing other various maintenance activities.
  • Working proficiency in computers, knowledge of PMXpert CMMS software is considered an asset.
  • Ability to perform other maintenance tasks welding, minor plumbing, refrigeration, an asset.
  • Flexibility to respond to issues outside of regular working hours.
