JOB SUMMARY

Our company Wingspan Properties is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, punctual, and self-motivated Maintenance Technician to join our growing Team in Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to our Property Manager, the maintenance technician will be performing all requested maintenance tasks in our residential properties throughout the Edmonton area. The ideal candidate will have adequate plumbing and electrical experience, as well as a high level of general repair skills for residential apartments.
The person in this role must own a vehicle and be able to drive to our different residential properties throughout the day. The person in this role must also be available on calls (in the evenings and weekends) for emergency inquiries. Wingspan will be providing mileage reimbursement for the usage of your own vehicle for business purposes.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (INCLUDING CERTIFICATIONS) & KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-year experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position
  • Own a set of basic tools ( Not required)
  • Ability to prioritize different tasks and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Ability to lift 40-50 lbs
  • Bowler and Plumbing certifications are an asset
  • Proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented with a keen eye for repairs and maintenance

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues such as leaks, electrical faults, and heating/cooling malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace damaged fixtures, appliances, and structural components (e.g., doors, windows, walls, flooring).
  • Conduct regular inspections of property exteriors, common areas, and individual units to identify potential maintenance needs.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to extend the life of equipment and systems.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Be on-call as part of a rotating schedule to address after-hours emergencies.
  • Prepare vacant units for new tenants, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs.
  • Inspect and document unit conditions at move-out and move-in stages.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities adhere to safety codes and regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation for maintenance activities and inspections.
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards on the property.
  • Respond courteously and professionally to tenant service requests.
  • Keep tenants informed of repair schedules and expected completion times.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, supplies, and replacement parts.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Other duties as required
