POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Manufacturing Manager the Maintenance Technician is responsible to perform maintenance on manufacturing equipment, perform routine maintenance, oversee preventative maintenance programs, and assembles machinery and equipment prior to installation. The remaining points are inserted under the duties and responsibilities section.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years’ experience working within a maintenance technician role, manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced knowledge of basic electrical needs, welding, and mechanical aspects of manufacturing machinery.
- Experience working with industrial sewing machines and welding equipment would be a strong asset.
- Continual improvement focused and ability to work independently on improvement projects.
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent relevant trade certificates.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspection of production equipment.
- Maintain and repair all manufacturing equipment in the facility, to include industrial sewing and seaming machines, spreaders, auto weld lines, and pneumatic line devices.
- Responsible for the preventative maintenance plan of the plant, inclusive of all equipment.
- Assist the Maintenance Team Leader and other trades, with installation of new equipment into the facility. Including inspection, pre-use setup, and documentation requirements.
- Identify opportunities to optimize equipment performance and operational efficiency.
- Recommend upgrades, modifications, or process improvements to enhance reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Responsible for stocking consumables for machines in a systematic fashion and maintaining a log in and log out system of parts.
- Performs and coordinates the preventative maintenance program including all machinery and equipment, building and forklifts.
- Inspects and examines machinery and equipment to detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.
- Adjusts machinery and repairs and replaces defective parts.
- Operates machine tools such as grinders and welders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
- Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on machinery.
- Performs and supervises calibrations as per Albarrie standards.
- Maintains cleanliness of the facility and maintenance room.
- Maintains inventory of parts and orders replenishment items, as required.
- Lights, parking lot, and other areas as required.
- Collaborates with the Manufacturing Manager to arrange internal resources or sub-contractors to fix electrical, plumbing, or heating systems.
- Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with company and department policies, procedures, and standards.
