JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary: This position is responsible for preventative maintenance activities, changeovers, volume conversions, break-down troubleshooting, and improvement projects in a high paced flexible packaging environment. This position will be supporting our night shift 7:00PM to 7:30AM.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 - 3 years of maintenance specific experience within the food industry.
  • Experience with Tetra Pak equipment and aseptic food processing an asset.
  • Experience with high-speed flexible packaging equipment and retort food processing an asset.
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working in a diverse and multicultural atmosphere.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (both written & verbal).
  • Ability to work in a multi-skilled, rotating shift environment.
  • Demonstrated regard for personnel and product safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety first: Understand and adhere to all safety procedures, utilizing appropriate safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Perform all work in accordance with health and safety standards, rules, regulations, and practices of the facility.
  • Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers maintenance manuals for work procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment’s electrical, mechanical, Pneumatic, and hydraulic issues failure or breakdowns.
  • Repair and perform maintenance on high-speed packaging equipment, dismantling and assembling mechanical and electrical equipment, repair, and replacement of defective parts as required.
  • Maintain, repair, and reassemble production equipment: including but not limited to pumps, pasteurizers, valves, pipes, etc.
  • Understand and perform maintenance activities on all support equipment: boiler, air-compressors, condensers, vacuum pumps, water meters, etc.
  • Communicate with various parties on the work performed during shift changeovers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance following standards and schedules as outlined in the PM program. This includes lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, etc.
  • Control downtime by managing and performing routine preventive maintenance and operation techniques.
  • Participate in maintenance improvement projects as required.
  • Create WO’s, issue parts needed for the WO and confirmed WO using SAP platform .
  • Maintains daily cleanliness of the Maintenance shop, fabrication shop and parts washing area.
  • Do daily, weekly, and monthly lubrication route for all equipment.
