Your Opportunity:
The Alberta Children’s Hospital, Facility Maintenance and Engineering department are pleased to offer this opportunity for a temporary (6-month term) Maintenance Worker IV. This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual seeking an opportunity in a fast-paced and dynamic environment who is committed to client satisfaction, and a promoter of teamwork and partnerships with various stakeholders. Shift pattern is typically Monday-Friday days (07:30 – 15:30). However, the successfully applicant will be required to cover 12 shifts during days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays when required for vacation and unplanned absence coverages at all sites within the Facilities Maintenance and Engineering director’s portfolio for the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
Description:

As a Maintenance Worker IV, you will perform a variety of highly skilled and complex maintenance and repair work requiring considerable initiative and judgment in determining the appropriate work methods consistent with standards, regulations and procedures. You will utilize your supervisory and/or maintenance skills and experience to perform preventative maintenance and repair duties on specialized equipment and building control systems, and to provide leadership and direction to other maintenance staff in order to meet operational requirements. In addition, you will perform specialized machine repairs, as well as the maintenance and monitoring of systems and equipment. You may be responsible to resolve escalated operational issues; act as a delegate for the Manager on operational issues; participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff; assisting the design and implementation of preventative maintenance programs; estimate project costs; and liaise with outside agencies and contractors.
