Jones Dairy Farm, a family owned and operated business for 135 years, is searching for a Maintenance Youth Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has the desire to learn about maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Maintenance Youth Apprentice, you will work alongside our Maintenance team members to gain experience in what it takes to plan, perform and manage equipment maintenance in a Food Manufacturing setting.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Participant in the Youth Apprenticeship Program
- Adhere to all food safety and workplace safety requirements
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent customer service skills including problem solving, timeliness, and follow-up
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and computer skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate equipment efficiently. Requires frequent walking, bending, standing and sitting with exposure to production areas requiring use of safety equipment and exposure to cold, hot, damp and noisy environment. Ability to occasionally lift over 30 lbs. required.

Responsibilities:
- Tracking time and material usage for maintenance activities in electronic work order system
- Maintaining proper housekeeping in all areas; including shop and parts area
- Locating, checking out, and maintaining parts inventory for maintenance team
- Assist in supporting the company’s preventative maintenance program
- Assist in other areas of plant maintenance, as needed
- Work as part of a team to improve plant reliability and efficiency
