We provide students a transformative leadership experience, push the boundaries of knowledge with faculty research, and offer a portfolio of entrepreneurial and non-degree programs that deliver unrivaled global impact. We are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in service of our goal to develop innovative, principled, and insightful leaders who change lives, change organizations, and change the world. We invite you to be part of this mission.
The major gifts team within the External Relations Office at the Graduate School of Business seeks a major gifts associate. The major gifts team is a group of dedicated front-line fundraisers and associates tasked with securing significant financial resources for the school. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across the GSB and Stanford University to help cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with key donors and alumni. You will provide administrative support to several major gift officers and be responsible for a range of assignments from research and meeting preparation to key systems management.
The major gifts associate role is an excellent entry point into Stanford and the fundraising field. You will be a core member of a high-performing team with potential opportunities for advancement within the broader External Relations unit over time. A successful major gifts associate is enthusiastic about Stanford GSB’s mission, has a strong belief in the importance of philanthropy, and is able to take ownership of new projects and challenges that will be critical to the team’s success. The major gifts team values professional entrepreneurship and a willingness to go above and beyond for our community.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the department, including budgeting, reimbursements, and occasional gift processing.
  • Manage preparations for donor meetings and development officer travel, including developing itineraries and drafting briefings.
  • Research prospects and donors, update records, and generate reports using the university’s external relations database.
  • Assist in the design, publication and production of select fundraising and communications materials.
  • Build professional relationships with colleagues across campus and stay informed on current university initiatives and activities.
