Description:
A Mammography Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and quality assurance of a mammography facility. The Mammography Program Manager ensures that the facility complies with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards and best practices. The Mammography Program Manager also supervises and trains the mammography staff, coordinates the scheduling and workflow of the mammography exams, and maintains the equipment and supplies.
- Manage the mammography program and staff, including hiring, training, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure that the mammography facility meets all regulatory and accreditation requirements, such as the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA), the American College of Radiology (ACR), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and performance of the mammography services, including image quality, radiation dose, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the mammography program, such as infection control, safety, quality assurance, and quality improvement.
- Coordinate the scheduling and workflow of the mammography exams, ensuring that the facility meets the demand and provides timely and accurate results.
- Maintain the mammography equipment and supplies, ensuring that they are in good working condition and calibrated according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Collaborate with the radiologists, referring physicians, and other health care professionals to provide optimal care for the patients.
- Educate and counsel the patients and the public about the importance and benefits of mammography screening and breast health.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in mammography.
- Other duties as assigned or requested
- Experience: 5 years of mammography experience
- Education: registered Rad tech with mammography certification
- Licensure/Certification required: LSRT and ARRT
