Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Finance team based at Walton Hospital, Chesterfield.
As a key and valued member of the Management Accounting Team, you will be required to provide high quality and professional support to a range of Budget Holders/ Managers and the Senior Management Accountant.
Key Duties will include budget setting, reviewing, monitoring, reporting and forecasting of complex financial information, to strict deadlines in line with the Trusts Policies and Procedures.
To provide a professional, friendly service on a range of financial issues including responding to/resolving ad-hoc queries, identifying financial trends and providing advice in a concise uncomplicated format, escalating queries as necessary.
Assist Budget Managers in respect of staffing levels/skill mixing within the financial resources available.
Responsibility for ‘signing off ' vacancy forms for replacement and new posts in accordance with procedure.
To actively participate in the annual review and set baseline budgets for own area, linking into the Annual planning process of the Directorate.
To oversee the financial coding and authorisation process for purchase invoices.
To produce monthly financial information, delegating and co-ordinating completion of tasks as appropriate, working to strict deadlines.
Examine financial coding, ensuring data is accurate, including a detailed review and further investigation where necessary, of monthly budget statements, variance analysis, ensuring the correct accounting treatment is reflected in statements for accruals, prepayments and various income streams.
To assess the analysis of variances and determine suitable action should any adjustments be required, escalating as necessary.
To produce a financial forecast for area of responsibility in conjunction with Service/Divisional Budget Managers to feed into the overall financial forecast for the Trust and to continually review and highlight changes in a timely manner.
