We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our Ngāi Tahu Holdings portfolio. Our Ngāi Tahu Holdings serves as the steward of commercial activities for Ngāi Tahu, managing significant interests in various sectors including commercial property, development, farming, forestry, seafood, honey, and tourism. NGĀ PŪKENGA / EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of farming and forestry practices.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, with expertise in month-end accounting.
  • Strong communication skills and a focus on process improvement.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and high attention to detail.

NGĀ TOHU MĀTAURANGA / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
  • CA qualification (CAANZ)

Responsibilities:

TE AROTAHI MATUA / PRIMARY FOCUS OF THIS ROLE:

As a Management Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial health of Ngāi Tahu Holdings’ Farming & Forestry portfolio. This role involves managing a range of accounting and reporting tasks, providing essential business support, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

NGĀ KAWENGA / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports and reconcile accounts for internal and external platforms.
  • Work alongside our Finance Business Partner to deliver financial analysis and collaborate on budget reporting.
  • Provide monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and external requirements.
  • Continuously improve financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of FarmRight systems and data reporting tools.
  • Participate in cultural activities to strengthen your connection to Ngāi Tahutanga and te reo Māori.
