Description:
The Management Development Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating and enrolling client and internal training programs throughout the region for onboarding new hires and professional development and certification maintenance of all employees. As the specialist in management training, they will lead learners to take an active role in their learning by providing ample opportunities to interact with the content. The Management Development Specialist delivers content to managers using various teaching techniques, such as gamification, which ensures learners can test their knowledge as they go, gain instant feedback, and test knowledge retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan initial hire and recurrent training for front line management, oversee and deliver aviation-specific training programs (in-house)
- Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g., simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes)
- Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions.
- Conduct an organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that must be addressed.
- Use known education principles and stay up to date on new training methods and techniques.
- Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials.
- Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Key Behavioral Indicators (KBIs).
- Gather feedback from trainees or participants after each educational session.
- Partner with external stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional design.
- Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
- Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
- Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.
- Research and recommend new training methods, like gamification.
Skills & Experience:
- Post Secondary diploma or degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with audit learning & teaching programs
- Intimate understanding of the aviation security screening industry.
- Exceptional ability to communicate with client and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement action plans that achieve objectives.
- Experience and track record leading, motivating, and coaching people.
- Strong commitment to teamwork.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations.
- Requires minimal direction to complete more complex tasks; completes routine tasks with little or no supervision.
