Description:

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to providing academic support services for students with disabilities, as well as demonstrated leadership skills.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field. A master’s degree would be considered an asset. Certification as a Learning Strategist is preferred, but not required.
The successful candidate will possess skills related to:
o Leadership
o Advocacy, mediation, and diplomacy
o Coaching and mentoring
o Presenting, consulting, and collaboration
o Project and budget management
The successful candidate will have knowledge of applicable legislation related to EDI, accessibility, and human rights.
A minimum of 3-5 years working in a related setting is desired, with experience working in a post-secondary educational institution preferred.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and oversight over all departmental operations
  • Human resource management
  • Consultation with faculty and staff to ensure provision of accommodations
  • Fiduciary oversight of departmental budget and grants
  • Strategic planning and reporting
  • Case management
