Description:

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
In the dynamic DTC business environment, as Manager of the retained Retail accounting area within the team, the main focus of this role is to manage the respective team members and to be responsible for creating and maintaining sustainable, accurate and efficient Retail processes for all our entities in LAM to ensure the integrity of the financial records and meets the requirements set within the adidas Group policies. This includes, but is not limited to, main finance point of contact and expert in all retail related topics, the expert for any implementation of new company initiatives or projects, retail accounting process creation and review, internal and external audit liaison for retail topics, oversight of financial records, financial statement preparation and liaison between local Finance and Global Business Services (GBS) teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the correct accounting treatment is applied to all Retail held by adidas LAM locations.
  • Perform month-end-closing, corrections and in-depth analysis of Retail related accounting topics to ensure the accuracy in the financial statement (e.g. accruals and provisions, IFRS16, shrinkage, payment methods, etc.).
  • Ensure correct revaluation of the balance sheet accounts of all companies within area of responsibility.
  • Monitoring of systems interfaces, review and explain variations in regarding of Retail in the different IT systems (e.g. SAP, RBO, etc).
  • Manage the review of general ledger account reconciliations within area of responsibility and analysis as part of the monthly close, investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Pro-actively liaise with controlling and local markets to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
  • Prepare/update documentation of accounting and reporting procedures within area of responsibility.
  • Identify, implement, and/or support process improvements and harmonization with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Drive application and provide guidance on Retail Accounting policies to ensure compliance with internal and local guidelines for existing and future initiatives.
  • Advise and support local, regional, and global projects, as required; provide financial expertise in such projects.
  • Attends to queries from internal departments in relation to Retail Accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely regular reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual), including internal and external audits.
  • Maintains financial security by adhering to internal controls.
  • Further support and drive the upskilling of the GBS teams.
  • Manage, train and develops associates for the job and broader responsibilities within the company.
  • Provides training to workers in both orally and writing form on Retail Accounting systems, principles, and practices.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Fluency in written & spoken English.
  • Advanced in Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience preferred
