JOB SUMMARY

Built on a solid 100-year foundation, the Faculty of Engineering goes beyond traditional classroom education. Faculty members prepare students for careers in engineering that will contribute to solving the major world problems of today, providing students with real-world experience through participation in faculty research projects. Reporting to the Development Officer, the Manager, Alumni Engagement and Donor Relations plays a primary role in the success of the Engagement Development Model (EDM) for the faculty.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant area of study and a minimum of three years’ experience in a related business, marketing, public relations, or communications role (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Service oriented and committed to results and will demonstrate strength in communications, including accomplished skills in oral communications, writing and editing.
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point) and the ability to work with data sets.
  • Strong capabilities with digital platforms, social media best practices, contact management programs, digital communications, and the ability to analyze effectiveness within these areas.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
  • Event management experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deliver and evaluate Faculty-based alumni, donor, student and community engagement plans, programs and events.
  • Build and maintain relationships between alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of the Faculty of Engineering at regional, national and international levels.
  • Develop, implement and manage an annual strategic alumni plan. Ensure strategic communications and marketing for the Faculty’s engagement and donor relations plans.
  • Work closely with the Office of Advancement, coordinate and oversee logistics of events (class reunions, dinners, receptions, recognition activities, awards banquets and other activities).
  • Discover and develop opportunities for alumni and friends engaging volunteerism.
  • Lead the Faculty in managing donor engagement and recognition.
