Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Join us as a Manager, Application Scientists and lead a complementary team of microbiologists in our clinical and food/industrial portfolios. Anticipate and react to customer needs, provide technical leadership, and support the European commercial team. Travel required (up to 50%) to meet customers and support the team. Responsibilities:
All aspects of team management – goal setting and prioritization, performance management, day-to-day support, as well as
long-term mentorship and development.
- Assist Senior Manager in developing our short- and long-term plans
- Empower team to work seamlessly with colleagues across multiple functions
Ownership and leadership in complex troubleshooting cases and critical issues, using the appropriate internal resources to
ensure successful outcomes for our customers.
- Assist your team in delivering product demos, workflow analysis, presentations, and evaluations to meet sales goals.
Work with sales representatives on sales calls to customer laboratories to provide technical and applications assistance in
response to customer inquiries
- Lead the team through change and challenges and ensure a customer-centric approach in everything we do.
- Ensure the team has a ‘quality first’ mentality and supports all our compliance and vigilance processes and timescales.
- Support and occasionally provide customer training and direct support.
- Work with the Marketing and Brand Management to run sales campaigns, exhibitions, and industry events & support NPI’s
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Education
Degree in Microbiology, Clinical Microbiology or a related field (equivalent experience also considered, Masters or PhD
preferred)
Experience
- Several years’ microbiology laboratory experience, with previous experience in customer-facing roles preferred.
Strong commercial savvy with a consistent track record of working within or closely with commercial teams/marketing/product
management
Previous experience of leading technical teams would be desirable; however, full support will be given to transition to a managerial role.
- Experience in communicating technical materials in written and verbal form
- Shown history of leading customer concerns and resolving technical issues.
- High level of understanding of quality matters and extensive experience of working with our quality and manufacturing teams
Detailed comprehension of International Standards and their effect on product application, product testing, and validation
requisites.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Customer-facing experience, with the emotional intelligence to understand customer concerns
