JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

Manage Software Engineering for a high-paced delivery team composed of technical leads, product engineers and domain experts to drive product, technical direction, integrity, and delivery. Collaborate with Product Managers, Vendors, and other stakeholders to capture product priority and execute on the vision. Building strong relationships with teams, peers, leadership, stakeholders, and vendors is a key component for success in this position.
The Technical Delivery Manager will lead teams who assess business strategies and requirements, develop product technology roadmaps, and deliver modern platforms, product features and deliverables on time and within budget. He/she will define product technology roadmaps, set problem priorities, and provide direction and priority to delivery teams through the technical leaders who maintain product technology backlogs. His/her teams will be responsible for sizing overall opportunity, impact and full potential for new product features. The role requires driving alignment across Enterprise Architecture, Information Protection, Enterprise Data, and various Centers of Excellence across the HCA Enterprise.
Set and broadly communicate a product technology strategy, and meet the needs of the team and stakeholders. Requires attentive listening and demonstrating a strong executive presence as he/she will routinely meet with senior-level business management and present to large groups. Perform all duties with a focus on quality of work, attention to detail and a high level of self-management and self-awareness.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Development experience using ASP.NET, MVC, C#, SSIS, JSON, LINQ, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, ORM, Angular and Visual Studio
  • Experience creating SQL stored procedures, tables, view, functions and other data objects in SQL Server
  • Preferred experience designing and developing REST services and APIs
  • Preferred experience with Git or Azure DevOps version control system
  • Preferred experience with Azure and Google Cloud

OTHER SKILLS

  • Experience with end-to-end software delivery
  • Experience overseeing technology roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with cross-team coordination, product and project management concepts, and executive presentation skills
  • Experience and disciplined in Agile development techniques
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Passionate about how products work “under the hood” and comfortable discussing technical challenges with engineers and architects
  • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to handle ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Experience leading in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, taking ownership and initiative, and holding self and others accountable
  • Experience within the healthcare industry is a plus, but not required
  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude; customer service oriented

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred

EXPERIENCE

5 or more years of experience in a technical role – Required

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with technology, and product management teams across HCA to set and evangelize product technology vision, strategy, metrics and roadmaps while influencing measured successful product and feature rollouts
  • Define new products and drive alignment across multiple business and technical stakeholder teams
  • Influence conceptualization and development to produce high-quality digital products that provide measurable value
  • In collaboration with Application Services leadership, building a product and technology roadmap to drive real value for products with milestones for success inclusive of discovery, and measurement
  • Qualify & quantify the return on investment of new technology work requests and product functionality through business case development and presentation to senior executives
  • Assess product and project effectiveness post implementation; leading troubleshooting efforts when needed
  • Monitor and act on product performance data (e.g., delivery, financial, and operational) to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support proactive issue resolution and productive problem solving when concerns arise around product design and business processes
  • Set direction to ensure delivery teams meet work objectives
  • Support Change Management and the improvements in Change Control processes while ensuring minimal/no impact to consumers, or back-office users
  • Work with UX to develop prototypes, mockups, and/or wireframes for new products and product functionality to cast product vision into the organization
  • Review technical design with other Delivery Leads, Product Managers, and peers
  • Ability to understand technical challenges and make educated trade-offs with your team; know technical workflows, needs, value drivers, and decision-making process, to deliver product intent and goals
