As a key member of the leadership team for Integrated Digital Applications, the Manager, Applications Support provides technical and managerial leadership in establishing goals and priorities and in the overall management of current and planned clinical and non-clinical application systems. Primary responsibilities include serving as the Applications leader (spokesperson) for the IS division, managing and coordinating application resources and processes, and coordinating consistent support of clinical and non-clinical applications. Responsible for the stewardship of the ancillary clinical and enabling services applications(s) used at THP.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead team responsible for second/third tier support of 170+ clinical and non-clinical applications with focus on high availability and currency of releases
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, performance management, and ongoing leadership of approximately 8-10 staff
  • Requires the ability to see the ‘big picture’ and able to implement strategies that align tasks, people, and requirements for success in meeting the department goals
  • Managing the lifecycle of applications, in accordance with business needs and privacy/security requirements
  • Complete regular thorough patching and testing of impacted systems
  • Ensuring daily operations are being monitored and executed according to defined SLA’s
  • Reporting of monthly key performance indicators,
  • Undertakes sustainment activities to ensure applications are available, well maintained, and satisfy business requirements
  • Participates in the development of quality standards, controls and procedures and ensures that all application solutions adhere to them
  • Enforce and/or refine best practices for an application support framework
  • Developing an applications roadmap and providing technical leadership in its implementation
  • Liaising with staff and leadership within Information Services, Clinical Systems and Informatics, and across the Hospital
  • Developing and managing key relationships internally and externally
  • Staying current with industry and technologies
  • Participating in, as a Senior Member, THP’s IS Change Advisory Board
  • Integrating with other teams to ensure a totally integrated ideal patient experience is attained
  • Identify areas of risk and provide solutions to remediate
  • Maintain and report monthly on operating budget for the Applications department
  • Participate in manager on-call rotation for enabling services, representing I.S.
