Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing, they will play a valuable role in helping the team to achieve its strategic objectives. The incumbent is tasked with developing, delivering and managing the organization’s business-to-business marketing efforts, from the plan development to execution. As required, the Manager, B2B Marketing will manage special projects assigned by a senior member of the Ottawa Tourism team. As an experienced and knowledgeable member of the Marketing team, the Manager, B2B Marketing contributes to the overall organizational mission and business plan by bringing excellence to the critical field of marketing.
This position is based out of the Ottawa Tourism offices in beautiful downtown Ottawa. Ottawa Tourism employs a hybrid work model, with some ability for all employees to work remotely. In some cases, certain positions will have an ongoing requirement to maintain a physical presence in the office. Such details will be discussed during the application process.

- Solid understanding of core marketing concepts, with experience in strategic marketing planning and brand management to drive impactful campaigns and strengthen brand presence.
- Understanding of and appreciation for the scope of the marketing role within a destination marketing context
- Experience in leading B2B marketing programs
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytics skills
- Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize, and think strategically
- Strong writing and editing skills in English. French is considered an asset.
- Willingness to act as a key contributor in a fast-paced organization
- Ability to accept direct responsibility for initiatives and outcomes that are vital to the position
- Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships with members, partners and suppliers

Primary Areas of Responsibility
- Oversees Ottawa Tourism’s B2B marketing initiatives, including Travel Trade and Business Events marketing, from plan development to execution. This involves managing multiple campaigns and projects, coordinating with advertising and creative agencies, and ensuring effective agency relationship management.
- Manages Ottawa Tourism’s LinkedIn account and posts, and the Business Events Twitter account, with a focus on B2B marketing efforts.
- Develops and executes email marketing programs.
- Develops content in consultations with the sales teams and content team.
- Works closely with key partners and stakeholders such as Destination Ontario and Destination Canada on trade initiatives for international markets and acts as a liaison for the organization.
- Manages special marketing projects as required, with a strong emphasis on project management skills.
- Responsible for comprehensive reporting on all marketing efforts, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Manages marketing budgets. Ability to forecast and track expenditures ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Demonstrates a broad understanding of general marketing principles and applies them to diverse campaigns and initiatives.

Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, advertising, business administration, or communication or related field - up-to-date knowledge of key marketing concepts, trends, and practices
- 5 years marketing experience
- Superior time and project management skills – organizational abilities, attention to detail & follow-through is key
- Proactive, able to take initiative working in a hybrid environment.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment, working with cross-functional teams at Ottawa Tourism
- Willingness to occasionally work outside of regular office hours and to travel as necessary
Assets
- B2B marketing experience, particularly in meetings, conventions and major events markets
- Fully bilingual in both of Canada’s official languages, both written and verbal.
- Previous experience working in tourism, hospitality, or destination management/marketing.
