Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Partnering and Support Branch partners with the stakeholders across the VSBA to support project management data and financials to provide accurate reports and costings to support business decisions. The Partnering and Support Branch is comprised of three teams:

  • Cost Control Unit
  • Portfolio Partnering Unit
  • Business Analysis Unit

The Manager, Business Analysis will manage and oversee the work of the Business Analysis Unit within the Partnering and Support Branch. The purpose of the Business Analysis Unit is to:

  • Implement and embed the VSBA Data Governance Framework and support the organisation in their use of this framework to enhance the data maturity level of the VSBA.
  • Data analytics and data insights to inform business decision making
  • Build reporting capabilities and improve business processes

The Manager will report to the Director, Partnering and Support, and the Business Analysis Unit is made up of Senior Business Analysts, Business Analysts and Data Analysts.
All VSBA staff have a shared responsibility to meet the same service standards outlined in the VSBA Customer Service Charter. Our goal is to make every interaction with the VSBA a positive one for our customers, colleagues and key partners regardless of our individual role or team.

The Manager will:

  • Project manage the delivery of the VSBA Data Governance Framework
  • Report to the Director, Partnering and Support and the internal governance committees on the progress of the VSBA Data Governance Framework through internal reporting and briefings
  • Implement the data quality management process in the project management system
  • Support the data stewards’ team to establish and embed the data steward function
  • Manage effective relationships with project stakeholders to manage change, risk management and resolve issues impacting successful delivery
  • Improve the data collection systems to support business and policy needs of the department
  • Undertake research and environmental scanning to identify trends and opportunities relating to project delivery data and strategy
  • Proactively identify areas in the business for analysis, develop recommendations and present recommendations to executives
  • Communicate through verbal and written complex issues effectively
  • Motivate others to deliver against team objectives and build team commitment
