POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Capital Planning and Delivery will provide sectional leadership and guidance. You will implement and promote the City’s strategic plan and foster a culture of innovation, engagement, collaboration and respect. You are responsible for overseeing the facilities Life Cycle Program, Program Management for building renewal projects, and provide Architectural and Engineering technical support for all City facilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or other related discipline
- P. Eng Designation or Professional Architect License is required
- 7 years related experience
- Practical or consulting experience in the engineering and project management field is an asset
- Prior municipal or public sector experience in the field is an asset
- Prior facility management experience is an asset
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, and various Engineering-related software
- Proficient in applicable federal and provincial codes, standards, and regulations
- Experience in planning, scheduling, and cost control of capital projects
- Knowledge of Construction Act, and Canadian Construction Documents committee (CCDC)
- Experience with procurement processes, and project management practices
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information and use discretion at all times
- Manages organizational change through strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, combined with well-developed organization and time management skills and the ability to deal effectively with tact, courtesy, discretion and diplomacy with all levels of staff and the public
- Demonstrates and encourages perseverance and resilience in difficult times
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
- Encourages innovative thinking and new ideas
- Proven ability to oversee and manage budgets

- Must possess a valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License, and have access to a vehicle for use on corporate business (mileage compensated) and will be required to provide proof of vehicle insurance upon hire
- Regularly works non-routine hours (evenings and weekends), with occasional travel to facilities or work sites as required
