JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Ontario Casualty Claims team is hiring, and we are actively looking for a Manager, Casualty Claims - Accident Benefits - Minor Injury Guidelines (MIG) to join our team! Reporting to the Senior Manager, Casualty Claims, you will be accountable for the management of a team of Claim Advisors, Accident Benefits. In this role, you will support the accident benefits department and management team in achieving their loss/expense cost containment and customer experience objectives as well as efficiency & effectiveness and employee engagement.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provides operational leadership and direction to a capable team of Claim Advisors, Accident Benefits and ensures their cooperation to successfully meet both Allstate Canada Group and the Claim Department performance requirements
  • Provides detailed analysis that recognizes individual and team opportunities to positively impact Allstate Canada Group financial performance within appropriate claim performance metrics and adverse trends. Building plans to capitalize on the opportunities and reduce adverse risks.
  • Develops employees and their abilities by providing appropriate coaching and feedback in preparation for developmental & career opportunities
  • Recommends, implements, and maintains an optimal organization design within the team, including alignment of roles, accountabilities and authorities and alignment of tasks within the region to deliver on the strategy
  • Actively looks for ways to improve customer service, efficiencies, employee engagement and cost containment through Continuous Improvement mythologies
  • Collaborates with the department’s Claim Managers to drive and deliver on departmental objectives
  • Ensures performance and development plans are in place for all direct report employees
  • Provides ongoing direction to the team to achieve targets
  • Participates in talent pool Assessments

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of Casualty Claim experience in Accident Benefits
  • Strong People Leadership/Management experience required
  • Enrolled in, or completion of, CIP designation
  • An in-depth understanding and working knowledge of Claims Best Practices
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge, especially in Excel and Tableau
  • Advanced knowledge of business technology systems
  • Advance knowledge of Legal and Regulatory requirements such as Provincial Insurance Acts
  • Strong working knowledge of foundational management systems; Continuous Improvement, Agile, Change Management

Dans le cadre de ses fonctions, il ou elle aidera l’équipe des indemnités d’accident et son équipe de direction nationale à atteindre leurs objectifs de contrôle des coûts des sinistres et des dépenses, d’expérience client, de mobilisation des employés, d’efficacité et d’efficience.
