Description:

SUMMARY

As a Commodity Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and leading commodity sourcing strategies. These responsibilities include quotations, bid analysis, supplier recommendations, awards, execution of new or extension of existing supplier contracts, supplier development, risk mitigation, and cost reduction in support of Landing Systems objectives for the Machining Commodity.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Typically requires a University Degree and typically a minimum 8 years in Supply Chain/ Sourcing/ Commodity Management/ Supplier Quality or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Data Analysis and Presenting using MS software (MS Excel, Power point)
  • Experience in ERP system
  • Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP and be eligible to work in Canada.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • SAP Experience
  • Aerospace/Automotive experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Supply Chain practices and Commodity Management.
  • Aptitude to work independently with little oversight.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to suppliers or senior leadership
  • Comfortable working in a fast pace environment with shifting priorities without impacting the quality of work produced.
  • Reacts with a sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated team building, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • Manages time and priorities well to meet previously provided commitments.
  • Demonstrated success in developing project plans and managing these projects through to successful execution, including overcoming obstacles and resolving issues on their own.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the development and execution of commodity and supplier development strategies for direct product that supports the strategic objectives of the Business Unit and Company.
  • Conduct RFQs and perform bid analysis.
  • Lead contract negotiations.
  • Organize efforts with regards to supplier performance improvements, expedite requests, and supplier onsite support on critical recovery plans.
  • Work with Operational Procurement, Engineering and Program Management to ensure the successful introduction of new programs and successful transfer of production requirements to new suppliers.
  • Support multiple buy to buy, buy to make, and make to buy projects.
  • Support the development of broad based commodity or supplier strategies.
  • Drive special projects with suppliers and cross-functional teams across the organization.
