Description:
Location: Hybrid. Must be able to work 3 days in the Pickering office.
Travel: This role requires occasional travel, primarily within Ontario to attend and support OCNI events.
Role: 20-month contract

EXPERIENCE & TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of experience in a professional communications role.
- College Diploma or University Degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Fluency in English, both written and oral, with exceptional communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with graphic design or communication tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar platforms is an asset.
- Experience managing communication strategies across digital platforms, including social media, email campaigns, and website updates.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines effectively.
- Ability to draft professional reports, correspondence, press releases, and other communication materials.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, work under pressure, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing public relations efforts or external communications is an asset.
- Understanding of program facilitation and development within an organizational context.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities:
ROLE SUMMARY:
The Communications Manager delivers exceptional service in strategic communications, event coordination/support, and overseeing OCNI programs while driving the organization’s messaging and branding initiatives. This role involves managing OCNI’s communications strategy, overseeing digital and traditional communication channels, and coordinating event support and programs that align with OCNI’s mission and objectives.
With a proactive and positive attitude, this position ensures effective communication with members, partners, and the broader nuclear industry, including developing and distributing impactful email campaigns, social media content, and press releases. Additionally, the role facilitates and oversees OCNI programs, ensuring they meet organizational goals and industry standards.
This position requires a dynamic, detail-oriented team player who can balance multiple priorities independently while fostering strong relationships with OCNI members and the team. Key attributes include exceptional communication, strategic planning, and effective execution of communications and programs.
