Marketing and Communications (Marcom) - Communications Hybrid - Montreal, Quebec
Starting Salary Range: $76,850 - $83,000 (commensurate upon related experience and skills)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be bilingual in English and French with a solid command of speaking and writing in both languages.
- Post-secondary education, preferably in the areas of communications, translation, journalism, professional writing or similar OR 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- 4+ years’ experience in communications, event planning, journalism, or writing role with demonstrated skill and ability to manage complex scientific, political, or technical content.
- Ability to work with senior management and offices in different locations across different time zones.
- Strong project coordination background with track record of managing multiple projects within given timelines and in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Experience working in a conservation environment is an asset.
- Media training is an asset.
- Experience developing, mentoring, and leading direct reports.

Responsibilities:
- Identify and leverage opportunities to position the organization’s voice and brand in the Quebec and Canadian marketplace.
- Develop and lead the execution of communication strategies, plans and activities in support of WWF-Canada’s conservation priorities with guidance from the Vice President, Communications and in consultation with the Senior Manager, Communications.
- Create content for French language materials to support communication initiatives.
- Review all translated French language materials for accuracy, and consistent brand voice and tone.
- Manage all work provided by staff translator positions and part-time contractors tied to translation and conservation initiatives.
- Cultivate, train and manage a pool of freelance translators.
- Manage the output, performance, and provide feedback to the Specialist, Translation.
- Working with the Specialist, Translation, assist with establishing their performance goals and individual development plan.
- Manage the translation budget.
- Fact checking (in conjunction with the organization’s Conservation teams) and copy editing to produce high-quality outward facing content that represents WWF-Canada.
- Collaborate with the Specialist, Social Media to translate, review and post content on French-language social platforms as needed.
- Provide support to the corporate partnerships team for front-facing partnership materials.
- Establish and maintain relationships with partners, donors and event sponsors as needed
- Assist the Communications team, as required, with other related duties contributing to the mandate and successful operation of the department and organization.
