Description:

We are offering an opportunity for a dedicated Manager, Construction Accounting to join our client’s team in the Real Estate & Property industry based in the Horsham, Pennsylvania area. As a critical part of our team, you will be tasked with a range of responsibilities that include financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and overseeing the development accounting group.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports to provide accurate development pipeline information to various stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the proper GAAP recording of income, expense, and balance sheet items through a final review of monthly and quarterly close.
  • Serving as the primary accounting contact for development managers, offering assistance and support as required.
  • Guiding and managing the activities of the development accounting group.
  • Reviewing loan draws prepared by both internal and external accounting staff.
  • Overseeing the loan draw process and communicating effectively with lenders, development managers, and accounting to ensure timely receipt of loan proceeds.
  • Providing budget to actual analysis and metrics reporting in collaboration with development managers.
  • Coordinating the accounts payable process for the development pipeline with various teams.
  • Developing effective tools and reporting methods to ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Assisting the development managers in maintaining multi-year development building and land budgets.
  • Facilitating financial and construction audits and implementing financial controls in line with company policy and procedures.
  • Developing and documenting business processes to maintain internal controls, GAAP compliance, and overall department efficiency.
  • Managing multiple accountants and fostering relationships with the development construction group to ensure appropriate information sharing.
  • Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in Construction Accounting and Reporting
  • Hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification (plus)
  • Hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree (plus)
  • Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems
  • Knowledgeable in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Skilled in performing Accounting Functions
  • Experienced in Financial Reporting
  • Possess a deep understanding of Construction processes
  • Have hands-on experience in Construction Accounting
  • Able to adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Possess excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
