Mission of the function:
The IT Manager for Contract Management will oversee the development, maintenance, and support of ERGO’s life insurance contract management applications. The team lead will be responsible for guiding a team of developers, analysts, and support staff to deliver efficient and effective software solutions that meet business needs, while ensuring system availability. This role requires team leadership, and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate an international team of developers, business analysts, and support staff.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring timely delivery of new functionality, change requests and maintenance tasks.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and career development discussions.
- Implement standards and new ways of working within the team.
- Project Management support:
- Plan, prioritize, and manage project timelines and resources for the development and enhancements of life insurance contract management applications (UL3 and Alice).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, help to define project scope and project plans.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Propose/define IT projects to automate, improve, gain savings on the contract management applications.
- Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical guidance and support in the design, development, and implementation of contract management solutions.
- Oversee the integration between the contract management system and other enterprise applications.
- Ensure system stability, security, and performance.
- Business Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between the IT department and business units to ensure effective communication.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to meet business objectives.
- Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors providing contract management solutions and services.
- Discuss roadmap and associated budget for the project portfolio and support activities.
- Ensure contracts and Service Level Agreements are adhered to.
- Risk and Compliance:
- Ensure contract management applications are in line with regulatory requirements and company governance policies.
- Manage risks related to system availability, data security, and user access.
- Work with the governance team to ensure data protection regulations are met.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in IT, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Change management experience, with a track record of leading successful software development and implementation.
- Experience in the insurance industry domain and contract management processes is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in software development best practices and relevant frameworks.
- Experience with DevOps and Agile.
- Familiarity with data privacy laws e.g. GDPR.
- Knowledge of SAP, SAS and project management methodologies are a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Proven ability to manage and motivate teams, foster a positive work environment, and drive results.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Precision in handling documents, data entry, and administration
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with team members and external partners and stakeholders at all levels
- Education:
- Master or bachelor degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
