QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering.
  • Specialist Diploma in WSH (Level C) or equivalent.
  • MOM-Registered WSH Officer is advantageous.
  • 3 years of managerial work experience in WSH role.

  • Good knowledge on Workplace Safety and Health Act, Regulations, Code of Practices and Singapore Standards
  • Proficient in WSH Risk Management

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

As the Manager of the Contractor Safety Management Branch (CSMB), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the implementation and enforcement of the Contractor Safety Management Program (CSMP) policies. Your leadership will be instrumental in upholding the quality, and accountability of contractors engaged in SMRT activities and projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager duties and responsibilities are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.

  • Lead the CSMB team in implementing CSMP.
  • Responsible for the overall welfare, morale and progression of the team.
  • Oversee both upstream and downstream activities within the CSMB, ensuring effective coordination among Onboarding, and NSM’s inspection teams.
  • Manage the daily operations of the CSMB onboarding team and coordinating with NSM’s inspection team.
  • Ensure all contractors at time of tender interview are assessed for safety adequacy for the job contracted.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and other relevant departments to ensure alignment with overall safety objectives.
  • Supervise and guide the Onboarding team, and coordinate with NSM’s inspection teams.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the unit.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on CSMB operations and contractor safety performance and compliance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, enhancing cooperation and compliance.
  • Support Trains SSQ in Projects and Events, and undertake Projects as assigned by Head Trains SSQ or Head Safety & Quality Governance.
  • Coordinate onboarding, work completion, and report submission across all Lines.
  • Liaise with NSM for inspection activities and focus on contractors with poor past performance.
  • Compile and present reports on contractor safety performance, including data and statistics, to senior management at TSSQ/WSSQ.
  • Assist in organizing bi-annual Contractor Safety Dialogues and related events.
