JOB DESCRIPTION
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Contracts Manager. This is a unique opportunity to make an impact on a global scale and contribute to our mission of enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. As the Contracts Manager you will play a crucial role in supporting the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) within Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Responsibilities:
- Review, negotiate, and administer commercial and government-related contracts on behalf of assigned CAD business units in accordance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
- Support the development and submission of RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses.
- Collaborate with internal departments to review and assemble final contract packages for customers, suppliers, and projects.
- Assess contractual risk and provide contract guidance to cross-functional team members on legal, financial, regulatory, and other business concerns.
- Administer commercial, federal and state-level contract schedules, including without limitation, price updates, audits, reports, and payments.
- Drive process improvement projects to enhance operational efficiencies and standardization such as establishing templates, standardizing playbooks, process updates, etc.
- Act as a liaison between the business units and customer or government contracting officer(s), as applicable.
- Maintain accurate records within the contracts team’s central repository and contract support center.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, along with relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
- Minimum 5+ years of government or commercial contracts experience, including contract negotiations, contract closeout, and pre and post RFP activities.
- Working knowledge of federal and state contracting processes.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate strong relationships, internally and externally at all levels of leadership, external customers and government officials, as applicable.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage constantly evolving priorities.
- Highly attentive individual with a customer-centric approach, sound judgment, work ethic, and professional integrity and a keen eye for detail.
- Advanced MS Office or Office 365 skills. Salesforce experience is a plus.
