Here’s what you can expect as a Compliance Manager at DaVita:
DaVita’s Compliance department identifies, develops, and implements strategies to mitigate risk in a quickly evolving healthcare regulatory landscape. As a Compliance Manager, you will join a team of highly motivated individuals and will be a key player in enhancing compliance oversight. This position will provide compliance guidance and support to DaVita’s patient-facing Revenue Operations functions and teams on compliance related matters, including but not limited to, federal and state regulations and laws and other healthcare regulatory requirements that arise in a variety of patient support areas and specific hospital billing activities. This position will liaise between Revenue Operations, legal, and compliance to ensure Anti-Kickback Statute and other fraud and abuse risks are mitigated.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required; JD/CPA/MBA or other relevant advanced degree or certification required
- Certificate in Healthcare Compliance preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a legal, compliance, or auditing professional responsible for the development, implementation and/or sustaining of an effective compliance program
- Required experience in healthcare industry dealing with federal healthcare program laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act
- Preferred experience working with:
- Medicare Advantage regulations;
- CMS Conditions for Coverage (CfC) and Conditions for Participation (CfP), and other CMS Manuals;
- Multiple insurance plan types (Commercial, Medicare Parts A-D, Medicaid)
- Strong organizational and project management skills with demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to independently drive things forward to completion
- Strong ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and switch gears quickly is a must
- Experience in positively and successfully managing relationships with a high energy and diverse group of leaders across organizational lines
- Solid technology skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with creating data analytics
- A thoughtful, articulate and effective communicator who can distill and articulate the important aspects of any issue to a wide audience of participants, as well as provide on the spot input as needed
- Ability to quickly establish credibility and create trusted advisor relationships with senior leadership to navigate complex matters
- Superior written and verbal communication skills (including presentations) and the ability to drive execution in a team environment
- Demonstrated management level presentation experience
- Must be self-motivated, team player with proven ability to identify issues while striving for practical business solutions
- Hands on, efficient and proven ability to “Get Stuff Done” with a bias for action and a strong sense of ownership
- Limited travel required: Up to 10%

Responsibilities:
- Reports to Compliance Sr. Manager
- Assists in the management of the day-to-day compliance program for our dialysis business unit including, but not limited to the following departments: Patient Admissions, Insurance Management and Education, Payor Contracting, Patient Support & Insurance and other supporting teams
- Ensures compliance with and maintains a working knowledge of the Anti-Kickback Statue, the False Claims Act, Federal and State regulations and rules as set forth by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), as well as other laws and regulations related to the healthcare revenue cycle
- Identifies potential revenue cycle vulnerabilities through various methods, including conducting risk assessments, reviewing risk assessment processes, making recommendations for process improvements, and assisting in the development of the annual compliance plan
- Assists in the development, modification, communication and implementation of policies and procedures
- Assists in the development and implementation of compliance communications to key stakeholders
- Assists in the development, modification and implementation of compliance training to key stakeholders
- Assists in the development and execution of annual compliance, risk assessment and audit and monitoring plans, including implementation of corrective actions, where needed
- Partners and collaborates with Compliance leaders, senior leadership and legal counsel to develop guidance on all new and current business initiatives
- Effectively communicates to and educates business partners on complex matters
- Demonstrates an aptitude for critical thinking in complex situations and an ability to provide thoughtful and concise guidance when needed
