Description:

Saskatchewan Blue Cross®, one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers, is currently recruiting for a full-time permanent Manager, Corporate Analytics to join our team in the Corporate Analytics department. This position offers the flexibility to participate in hybrid options in our Saskatoon or Regina office.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Finance or Accounting)
  • 7+ years experience in analytical role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry
  • 3+ years in results driven Leadership role
  • Proficiency in analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning techniques, and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Power BI, CRM, MS suite)
  • Experience processing extensive data sets and familiarity with multiple platforms, tools, and methodologies in data management, reporting and advanced analytics, automation
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products, underwriting principles, actuarial methodologies, and risk management frameworks is an asset
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify actionable insights, and develop data-driven strategies to address business challenges
  • Experience with data management/warehousing and business intelligence solutions
  • Comprehensive understanding of privacy regulations, and data governance standards
  • Leadership capabilities to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams, foster a culture of innovation, and drive organizational change
  • Strong project management skills to help deliver results in a complex environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to think outside the box, anticipate future trends, opportunities, and challenges in the insurance industry landscape
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis
  • Criminal record and background check satisfactory to Saskatchewan Blue Cross

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data analytics strategies to drive business growth, improve customer experience, employee experience, and optimize risk management
  • Deliver the data strategy by defining and managing the analytical vision, strategy, priorities, development of reporting, analytics, and insight of the organization through the delivery of interactive dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs), key risk indicators (KRIs), portfolio performance, profitability, risk profile, and operational efficiency
  • Lead the development and management of the financial forecasting process for SBC, including coordinating with Finance and the business to set financial targets and KPIs; leading and managing the development, calibration, review and update process to ensure forecasting model is reliable and supports business and the budget process
  • Lead and manage capital management processes of SBC, ensuring sufficient capital is maintained for risk exposure
  • Lead and oversee the development and implementation of the data governance program, including development and oversight of data stewards, model risk management, enterprise content management and compliance with data management processes, policies and procedures.
  • Lead the development of risk models, scenario analysis, and stress testing to assess the financial viability and resilience of the organization
  • Provide in-depth analysis of benchmark data, market trends, competitor performance, and consumer preferences to inform strategic decision-making
  • Develop a strong partnership with business stakeholders to assess current and develop future requirements, while leveraging new technologies to meet business needs
  • Lead the identification of data and automation opportunities within the team and across the organization ensuring initiatives are prioritized, and actionable data analytics is delivered
  • Lead the automation of data related processes, by collaborating with the business and IS&T, with a goal of reducing manual processes through the use, implementation, and utilization of automation tools enhancing data consistency, accuracy, speed of delivery and reliability and creating a culture of continuous improvement
