IFRS 9 KNOWLEDGE – IS REQUIRED

  • IFRS 17 knowledge – is an asset
  • Ability to lead and manager large complex financial accounting projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial transactions and strategies in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience in research, analysis and implementation of changes to accounting policies
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to communicate and work collaboratively with various stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, power point)
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced IFRS Accounting Expert to join our team at Intact. In this strategic role, you will provide accounting advisory services to various internal stakeholders, ensuring our financial practices are in full compliance with the latest IFRS standards. You will offer strategic insights to management, guiding key financial decisions. Staying at the forefront of IFRS developments, you will proactively identify and solve complex accounting issues, ensuring seamless integration of IFRS updates across the organization. Your ability to influence and build strong, collaborative networks will be crucial in aligning our financial practices with industry best standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with exceptional communication skills and a proven track record in strategic accounting advisory.

WHAT YOU’LL DO HERE:

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Become a Subject Matter Expert on Intact’s IFRS accounting policies, including but not limited to IFRS 9 and IFRS 17.
  • Advisory Role: Provide strategic insights and advise Segment & Corporate Finance leaders on the appropriate application of Intact’s accounting policies in complex upcoming transactions.
  • IFRS Update Monitoring: Monitor upcoming changes to IFRS and ongoing compliance with Intact’s accounting positions. Assist, from time to time, in the optimization and implementation of financial systems and processes to ensure compliance with changes in IFRS standards.
  • Industry Analysis: Analyse and monitor the development of IFRS accounting positions taken by peers within the industry and by accounting standard bodies.
  • Stakeholder Training: Contribute to the training of various departments on Intact’s accounting policies and act as a contact person for various stakeholders
