Location is flexible, within Alberta, dependent on the successful applicant.
However, periodically may be asked to work in other AFSC branches. Travel in these circumstances will be reimbursed according to AFSC’s Employee and Board of Directors Expense Policy.
The Manager Corporate Policy, Compliance & Information plays a crucial role in leading a team that supports corporate policy management, compliance and information management governance. The role ensures that these functions ensure compliance with legislation, ethical conduct and alignment with AFSC strategic goals.
The Manager Corporate Policy, Compliance & Information works closely with various departments across AFSC to keep policies up-to-date with legislative requirements and best practices, manage compliance understanding and issues, as well as supporting information management governance.

What will you be responsible for?
- Designs, implements and revises the corporate policy framework and a risk-based compliance framework.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify, create, and revise corporate policies in line with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Designs and delivers training programs to educate employees about corporate policies, compliance requirements, and ethical standards.
- Provides ongoing support and clarification to employees regarding policy interpretation and application.
- Conducts regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas of corporate non-compliance or potential risk, and develop strategies to address them.
- Prepares regular reports for management and other oversight committees regarding the status of compliance and any identified issues.
- Stays abreast of changes in laws and regulations that may impact AFSC and works with the departments to ensure compliance.
- Promotes a culture of ethics and integrity throughout AFSC.
- Oversees the development and implementation of the information and records governance policies and related documents
- Provides guidance and leadership to enterprise records management and information management activities
- Responsible for effective recruitment and selection, onboarding, retention, coaching, supervision, performance management and off boarding of team
- Coaches and mentors team members and supports their participation in learning opportunities and professional development to ensure highest level of skills and productivity to meet AFSC needs
- Participates in and promotes team building, empowerment of team members and provides a stimulating work environment which encourages team and individual growth

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance or a related discipline.
- A relevant certification (e.g., Certified Fraud Examiner, Certification in Ethics and Compliance, Information and Records Management Certificate, Canadian Risk Management or similar) is required
- Five years of leading, motivating and managing a team
- Seven years progressive experience relating to: policy management, compliance, and information management
