The Manager, Court Transcription Service (CTS) will lead court transcript services for the participating courts of the Courts Administration Authority (CAA). The Manager CTS consults and works with key stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes, identify needs, and provide expert guidance to facilitate achievement of the CAA core business objectives for effective service delivery. This includes CTS leading the direction of court transcription including evolving service provision models and new digital technologies (including AI-enabled) and changing workforce requirements to meet these evolving needs.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:
- Providing leadership, guidance and support to a team of 50+ FTE to deliver timely, accurate and effective transcription services across all participating courts.
- Ensuring efficient deployment, and compassionate support, of staff to meet the competing needs of the various courts.
- Ensuring sound management of the approved CTS budget, sustaining financial management and compliance with audit and reporting requirements. Managing and undertaking complex project work, particularly as it relates to emerging technology and process improvement.
- Developing harmonious and productive working relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders including the Judiciary, CAA staff, and legal profession stakeholders.
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE:
- You will have demonstrated experience in delivery of high-level customer service, preferably in a similar or adjacent government environment.
- You will be a strategic yet empathetic people leader, with experience in managing a large, complex team.
- You will be skilled in developing and implementing strategic and operational plans and policies, along with demonstrated experience in project management that has achieved successful outcomes.
- You must demonstrate highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills in complex environments, along with change management and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge and understanding of the production of transcript using online equipment and courts transcript management systems is desirable, but not essential to the role.
