Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to manufacturing, sales, supply chain and teams and make recommendations to senior management.

  • Partner with Sales to align and assist on forecasts and demand plans including upcoming promotional periods with key customers and accounts across various channels.
  • Ensure master production schedules are built and maintained across both frozen, fluid and copack business units with weekly alignment from key stakeholders.
  • Lead and facilitate the Sales & Operation Planning process.
  • Use ERP to assist in the creation of demand and supply plans, maintaining accurate master production schedules in the system and release daily orders to the manufacturing floor.
  • Perform detailed planning and execution at daily / SKU levels across all business units, ensuring detailed capacity is considered for plant planning and shift schedules.
  • Balance production objectives ensuring optimal inventory, manufacturing efficiency, allergen safeguards and changeover minimization.
  • Provide direction to Kawartha Dairy leadership on long-term capacity and strategic planning goals encompassing existing and future capacity plans to ensure overall sales and inventory metrics are achieved.
  • Build rough-cut manufacturing plans to support annual planning (AP) process working closely with Finance.
  • Assist adjacent departments when required with material planning.
  • Work with the Innovation Team to schedule trials and monitor sales progress with adjacent teams to ensure at risk inventory on innovations are minimized while avoiding out of stocks.
  • Report and lead key performance indicators related to Customer Fill Rate and Manufacturing Attainment
  • Determine optimal solutions for last-minute schedule changes ensuring minimal ingredient waste or over-production
  • Predict inventory obsolescence and work with internal departments on appropriate course of action
  • Be close to the customer service team to ensure outlier orders or customer special orders in our fluid business are captured and planned accordingly.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE:

  • 5 + years experience in supply and demand planning in a food company.
  • University degree or college diploma.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and experience.
  • Sound communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills and a strong team orientation.
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative.
