| What we are looking for
Reporting to the Director, Cyber Security and Operations, the Detection Engineering Team plays an integral role within Payments Canada. Working alongside the Cyber Threat Intelligence and Security Monitoring & Response teams; they design, implement, and maintain systems and processes to identify malicious activities and cyber threats on behalf of the organization. The team plays a critical role in security operations by ensuring all security capabilities are tuned to effectively detect and prevent cyber threats.

Responsibilities of the Manager, Detection Engineering includes but is not limited to:

Detection Engineering

  • You will act as a subject matter expert in the development and management of detection use cases in the SIEM, EDR and other security capabilities.
  • You will develop and maintain the security operations Concept of Operations and various operational procedure and playbook documents to inform how process, people and technology come together to execute Detection Engineering functions.
  • You will provide guidance on the management of security capabilities, automation and integration of security capabilities to support the Security Monitoring and Response team.
