Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Manager, Digital Engagement and Content, will play a critical role in shaping the organization’s online presence, creating engaging content, and ensuring our digital platforms reflect the Foundation for Black Communities’ mission, vision, and values. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role will be vital in capturing and sharing the impact stories of our community investments, partners and initiatives.
The Manager will lead the development of creative content strategies that highlight the transformative work of FFBC and its community, oversee website management and drive the growth of the organization’s online visibility and audience engagement. By focusing on impact storytelling, this role will help to amplify the voices of Black-led, Black-serving, and Black-focused organizations across Canada, bringing their stories and achievements to a broader audience.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Web Development, Journalism, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in content management, web development, or digital communications.
- Proficiency in Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and familiarity with web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Strong understanding of SEO, web traffic metrics, and user experience design.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience in managing multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders, including freelancers and internal teams.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and best web design and content creation practices.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Experience in nonprofit communications.
- Knowledge of graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
- Experience with video production and editing.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Éducation postsecondaire en communication, marketing, développement Web, journalisme ou un domaine connexe.
- Au moins cinq ans d’expérience en gestion de contenu, développement Web ou communication numérique.
- Bonne connaissance de systèmes de gestion de contenu Web (par exemple, WordPress, Drupal) et connaissance des langues de développement Web (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Compréhension approfondie du référencement naturel, des mesures de trafic Web et de la conception d’une expérience utilisateur.
- Excellentes aptitudes pour la rédaction, la révision et la relecture; capacité de faire preuve d’une grande minutie.
- Expérience de la gestion de multiples projets, calendriers et intervenants, y compris des pigistes et des équipes internes.
