role summary
The Manager, Digital Marketplace will be responsible for scaling and strengthening a newly launched Marketplace function within the Ecommerce & Marketplace team, delivering against forecast KPIs through a deep understanding of trading and operating with 3rd parties.

a day in the life

  • Grow and scale our marketplace operations in Europe; devise and implement strategies that will help us achieve our multi-year goals for the channel.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the business as a partner to third party marketplaces in Europe. Lead relationship with selected vendor to drive growth and capitalise on opportunity.
  • Own revenue performance and other ecommerce KPIs of the channel; analysing, interpreting and acting on performance data to grow the business.
  • Work with Finance and International partners to set forecasts for the channel based on quarterly activity.
  • Work closely with our relevant teams to proactively maintain and enhance our brand visibility, product catalogue, listings and pages - and solve problems as they arise.
  • Work with internal teams to create a merchandising strategy for marketplaces, including core inventory and seasonal product refreshes. Adapt product range and stock quantities to optimise sales based on internal and external data.
  • Work with Digital Marketing to plan, optimise, execute and monitor on-platform marketing campaigns to achieve visibility, engagement, conversion and ROPI.
  • Partner with INTL Digital Strategy function to evaluate success and optimise performance.
  • Manage Digital Marketplace team, fostering an inclusive, supportive environment and coaching team to reach development goals.

qualifications, skills and experiences

  • Comprehensive knowledge of online marketplaces and hands-on experience of growing brands on third party fashion platforms such as Zalando.
  • Experience managing relationships and leading negotiations with third party digital partners.
  • Experience managing in a large matrix organisation, plus experience of growing/developing teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to define, drive and deliver on customer and financial ROI goals.
  • Team-oriented with ability to effectively communicate priorities and collaborate with partners across the organization at all levels.
  • Strong communication/presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for all things Digital.

Your role is classified as hybrid under our global SSC Hybrid Workplace Policy.

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed at both the SSC office and home office every week.

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the successful onboarding of product, before and during a season. Includes QA of product data, pricing and categorization, troubleshooting where needed
  • Coordinate end-of-season markdown activations, with guidance from regional Planning team
  • Work closely with our relevant teams to proactively maintain and enhance our brand visibility across key areas of the digital marketplace
  • Liaise with Brand Creative and Fulfilment to ensure samples are ordered and delivered to partners in a timely manner
  • Support Manager, Digital Marketplace in weekly and monthly trade reporting, focusing on KPIs including, but not limited to: gross/shipped sales, traffic, conversion, returns, on-site performance marketing, product trends, ROAS
  • Attend and contribute to external planning and reporting meetings, sharing trade calendar and any relevant analysis
