Toyota Canada Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, EBS Connected Technology and Operations to support our Information Services team. This is a full-time opportunity and will report to the National Manager, Enterprise Business Solutions. The selected candidate will provide leadership to the technical team responsible for requirements, design, delivery and support of technical capabilities/solutions as well as definition of the application portfolio and roadmap for supported business units. They will act as a business relationship manager for our Connected Technologies (CT) and Human Resources (HR) departments. They will also become the technical product (co)owner for the technology stack relating to CT & HR.

What You’ll be Doing:
- Manage a varied team of Business Systems Analysts, Functional Analysts, Solutions Architects, Developers, and Quality Assurance resources designing high quality, scalable solutions
- Interface with the business and IT partners to understand client goals, requirements and priority, clarify scope, estimate work effort, and determine resource requirements
- Assign and track team allocation across the project portfolio with the goal of optimizing both business value and team allocation
- Build and maintain effective business relationships with project/support teams inclusive of TMNA partnerships (Toyota Connected, TMNA Connected Technology, Workday Team)
- Collaborate, where appropriate, with partner organizations to ensure consistent development, implementation and delivery to the end business customer
- Direct development teams in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, future planning and standard development practices
- Manage daily activities, issue resolution, and communication across project execution teams in order to deliver projects on-time, on-budget
- Set goals and objectives, provide feedback, coach for performance, develop technical, analytical and interpersonal skills of the team and mature their knowledge of the business
- Research, analyze, design, propose and deliver solutions that are appropriate to the business and technical strategies
- Work collaboratively with peers from other functional and technology domains on complex cross functional projects, as well as process improvement initiatives
- Investigate new technologies and work closely with partners across the business and IT to recommend strategies to successfully implement these technologies where required
- Establish and maintain policies and processes that drive consistency, standardization, predictability, quality, reliability of solutions
- Proactively communicate project status, completion, obstacles and accomplishments to customers and senior management
- Collaborate with business and IT partners to find alternatives and solutions to business challenges. Seek out systems/solutions (either internal to client or external 3rd party solutions) that can be leveraged to meet business requirements
- Strive continuously to make business processes and systems simpler, more productive, more efficient and less expensive
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key customers, vendors and other for Connected Technologies and TCI Operational departments (Human Resources)
People Leadership
- Offer timely guidance, coaching, feedback, and accountability to direct reports, promoting their learning, development, and successful project completion
- Lead team members to encourage collaboration, information sharing, and a Kaizen (continuous improvement) mindset, resulting in creased work efficiency
- Empower the team to take initiative and proactively influence business outcomes
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to engage in the hiring process to fill any vacancies on the team; provide training and onboarding support to new hires when they join the team
What You’ll Bring:
- Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- 7+ years of experience implementing large scale business systems applications
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory/managerial and business support role within an IT environment
- 3+ years of management experience with system development personnel including leadership, planning, and coordinating developmental work for large projects
- Experience in application development including DevSecOps and SDLC utilizing varied environments including MuleSoft, Java, Telematics systems, Workday, UKG, SaaS, PaaS solutions running on multiple databases and integration across varying types of systems e.g., SAP, Java, Salesforce, etc.
- Experience leading Development, Quality Assurance and DevSecOps teams
- Understanding of application architecture and how it interconnects with enterprise architecture strategy, middleware and security standards
- Ability to lead, motivate and direct within a matrixed organization structure
- Ability to organize several teams and focus on best practices, particularly regarding coding standards and quality assurance
- Experience with: Project Management, Change Management, Release Management, Systems Development Life Cycle Methodologies, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, and Systems Analysis and Design
- Proven ability to facilitate negotiation of competing requirements among stakeholders
- Understanding of organizational change management practices and how to bridge the gap between technology and the business
- Ability to work with other organizations for the resolution of business or technical problems
- Outstanding communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent presentation and report writing skills
- In-depth knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and leading projects / teams through to successful completion
- Certification with PMO ITIL, CMMI frameworks is an asset
