About your next Challenge as Manager, Electrical Engineering:
The Manager, Electrical Engineering acts as supervisor/technical mentor of a team responsible for the design, development and testing of electrical systems that are/will be installed on military-type aerial platforms.

The Manager is responsible to technically manage all activities related to Aeronautical electrical engineering activities performed at L3 MAS including but not limited to:

  • Identify work or projects associated with contracting equipment parts out for repair with subcontractors;
  • Manage development and update second line repair capability;
  • Technical mentor and an accountable ATO Airworthiness Design Engineer.
  • In this role, she/he will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree in aeronautical, electrical, mechanical or equivalent engineering;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace electronic equipment and minimum 5 years of experience in aviation repair and overhaul, preferably in component repair or repair management, with good analytical skills and understanding of technical documentation.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in personnel supervision and/or as team leader and/or coaching;

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access);
  • Familiarity with Quality and Airworthiness process/standards;
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-810 for ESS, MIL-STD-461 for EMI, DO-160 for civil aviation would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of maintenance concepts, probabilistic analysis and reliability would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of the CP-140 Orion (P3) , F/A-18 Hornet, CT-114 Tutor and the CC-150 Polaris (Airbus 310) would be an asset

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Responsibilities:

  • Technical leadership of the engineering support for the operational Repair and Overhaul production line (part of Operations) including support to the technical team on the floor.
  • Airworthiness delegate and approval authority of the released product. The Airworthiness duties could also include management of Airworthiness Maintenance Organization (AMO) delegations/authorizations if authorized by the SMM.
  • Involved with global coordination of repair capabilities and establish a repair vendor network to ensure repairs are performed in accordance with shop manual
  • Involved with all hardware and software design activities of test stations repair modules or automatic test equipment.
  • Involved with resolution of issues related to vendor quality and performance, and planning recovery or back-up solutions to ensure availability of overhauled material.
  • One-on-one and performance evaluation;
  • Assigning staff to the various projects;
  • Developing and monitoring training requirements, succession and coaching plans;
  • Planning employee career development opportunities;
  • Involved with completing the RFQ packages and obtain approval from Engineering Management.
  • In close support with management, involved with airworthiness and other training packages relates to R&O projects.
  • Prepare and complete project monthly reports, EAC and labor forecast for project
