Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to oversee the planning, execution, and management of various projects within our hospital premises. This role involves upgrading and modernizing utility equipment, liaising with government organizations, ensuring compliance with OSH and infection control policies, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The successful candidate will manage a team, handle budgeting and cost estimation, and contribute to quality initiatives. Responsibilities also include addressing day-to-day operational issues, coordinating with different departments, managing contractor relationships, and ensuring the welfare and training of staff. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, long-term planning, and effective communication to ensure the seamless operation of hospital facilities.

  • Project Management: Oversee and make decisions on project work within the hospital, including planning, costing, and execution of various facility-related projects.
  • Equipment Modernization: Upgrade and modernize utility equipment across different hospital areas.
  • Government Liaison: Coordinate with government organizations and other establishments related to the maintenance department.
  • Policy Coordination: Collaborate with management to make policy decisions and ensure their implementation.
  • Staff Welfare: Ensure the welfare of the staff in the department, including training and development.
  • Contractor Management: Select and oversee contractors for specific jobs with the assistance of the system-in-charge.
  • Long-term Planning: Conduct long-term planning for renovations and modifications to hospital facilities.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage the budget for maintenance and facility management activities.
  • Quality Initiatives: Contribute to and support quality improvement initiatives within the hospital facilities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSH, HAAD, NMCRH OSHMS, and infection control standards and policies.
  • Operational Management: Manage day-to-day operational activities of the facility management department.
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Conduct routine and preventive maintenance scheduling to ensure efficient operation of hospital facilities.
  • Resource Organization: Organize manpower and materials for day-to-day facility management activities.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Prepare for and participate in emergency management programs, ensuring facilities are safe and operational during emergencies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and address risk factors, ensuring a safe environment for staff and patients.
  • OSH Coordination: Designate a safety facilitator for coordinating OSH activities within the department.
  • Communication and Coordination: Regularly discuss OSH issues in departmental/management meetings and coordinate with other departments on different projects.
  • Building Maintenance: Maintain building and facility in a safe manner, including preparing building management plans and budgets.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Report OSH hazards, incidents, near misses, and issues, assisting with the preparation of risk assessments and incident reports.
  • Utility Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and operation of utility equipment, such as A/C plants, generators, boilers, and pump rooms.
  • Technical Oversight: Ensure proper functioning of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems through regular inspections and maintenance.
  • Complaint Resolution: Analyze recurring problems and take necessary actions to resolve complaints and issues promptly.
  • Education: B.E. or Graduate Engineer.
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in hospital facility management or a related field.
  • Skills:
  • Management and leadership abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective time management.
  • In-depth knowledge of equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Language Proficiency:
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Proficiency in Arabic is advantageous but not essential.
