PSE’s Environmental Services team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Manager Environmental Services position!

JOB DESCRIPTION

Develops and maintains PSE’s Environmental Management Systems, including coordination, measurement, and ongoing performance evaluations. Oversees PSE environmental compliance efforts. Provides project management and technical guidance for environmental issues associated with ongoing or historic PSE operations and projects. Supervises Environmental Services Department staff, manages department goals and objectives, develops and maintains budget.
Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.
Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in environmental studies or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience in environmental consulting or similar corporate or agency position.
  • Proven background in environmental project management and exposure to broad array of environmental issues.
  • Strong management, communication, teamwork, delegation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to build relationships internally and externally; ability to establish rapport with business clients across the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities:

  • Employee Safety, Development & Team Building - Providing employees with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:
  • Demonstrates a passion for safety. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety including eliminating at-risk behaviors by conducting safety audits and inspections, eliminating hazards and near misses, and attending safety meetings.
  • Sets clear expectations and holds employees accountable for performance as well as safety goals/targets where applicable.
  • Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. Ensures required training is successfully completed.
  • Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.
  • Accountable to ensure employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements, as well as safety standards.
  • Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
  • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve employee, business, customer and safety results.
  • Advises company management concerning environmental issues.
  • Oversees the activities of outside consultants retained to assist PSE in environmental matters.
  • Prepares budgets and reports to track costs and progress associated with environmental issues assigned to the Environmental Services Department.
  • Manages company environmental programs, including remediation, environmental audits, and emergency spill response.
  • Participates in and influences the decision-making process with appropriate clients and stakeholders.
  • Independently handles, or supervises others who handle, complex environmental matters or projects.
  • Monitors legal and related business trends on environmental issues, educates appropriate parties, and advocates adjustments in PSE’s policies and procedures.
  • Assesses risks and opportunities, establishes and advocates plans to minimize risks and capitalize on opportunities in connection with environmental issues.
  • Coordinates efforts with internal and/or external legal and business experts when appropriate.
  • Advocates PSE’s interests to internal and external audiences in a variety of environmental matters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
