As a Manager, Estimating you will lead various estimating exercises both within the Procurement Department, and with cross-departmental projects. Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and industry standards, collaboration with multiple internal and external partners, and successful coaching of junior estimators will critical to success in this role.
This role is located at our Empire Canada Homes Head Office in Vaughan, ON.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects including materials, labour, and equipment based on contract bids, quotations, construction drawings, and project specifications.
• Review and challenge costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Develop and manage budgets for new projects, model homes, and new model designs ensuring that estimates align with market conditions by identifying value engineering opportunities.
• Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and new construction technologies to provide accurate estimates and identify creative solutions to construct the most cost-effective houses.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure new designs are feasible and to align on project scope and costs.
• Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, scopes of work, and specifications to understand the scope and requirements of the project
