SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business (accounting or finance major is preferred)
  • CFP designation
  • CIM, CFA or a CPA designation is considered an asset
  • 6+ years of industry experience working with complex high net worth families
  • Strong working knowledge of trust, estate planning, tax planning, insurance and complex planning
  • Strong proficiency in with financial planning software (i.e. Planworth, Naviplan, WealthPath, or equivalent), Morningstar Direct or equivalent, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Word
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Highly skilled relationship builder and manager
  • Strong sales skills with a proven track record of delivering successful results for clients and their organization.
  • Strong time management skills and able to work across multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial with an eagerness to learn and expand skillsets.

Responsibilities:

  • Representing and growing the Family Office Services brand within the firm with a focus on delivering a world class experience in all facets of the process, from internal business development to the ultimate delivery of client engagements.
  • Provide sophisticated financial planning advice to clients following a comprehensive financial planning framework
  • Identify complex financial planning needs, and solutions for clients by considering the client’s wealth, life goals and other objectives
  • Perform in-depth analyses on specific aspects of financial planning including estate planning, philanthropy, investments, insurance and business succession
  • Develop recommendations and identify areas of opportunity to assist clients in achieving their financial goals
  • Assist in the development of articles, marketing materials and other documents
  • Coordinate client and family meetings including preparing reports, detailed agendas and post-meeting summaries
  • Lead the preparation of consolidated reporting of family net worth including reporting of wealth over all investment portfolios
  • Assist in the development of family governance plans and policies
  • Liaise directly with clients, their legal advisors, investment managers and other outside professionals, as needed
  • Maintain flexibility to travel within Ontario (primarily within the GTA) and occasionally within Canada
